General Manager

Joey become GM of Blue’s in April of 2024, after the tragic loss of our partner…and Joey’s good friend, General Manager Elliot Hartwell. 

After living his whole life in the New York City area, Joey fulfilled a long held lowcountry dream, and moved to the Charleston area in 2023. He was the first hire Blue’s new ownership group made…and it didn’t take long for him to stand out “behind the stick.” 

A proud graduate of Seton Hall University, Joey worked most of his adult life in professional video and audio production. After years DJing shows in NY and NJ bars and clubs, Joey reluctantly took up a promoter’s offer to Guest Bartend, that would [surprisingly] change EVERYTHING. He absolutely LOVED IT…and he was a natural to boot. He was asked to start picking up training shifts on the spot, and a few years later, he brought that cocktail crafting passion and service first mentality down to Charleston with him.

A consummate creative …and closet nerd... his years of experience working in bars mixed with his years managing production sets and studios, leadership abilities and a personal mantra of “Always Bring the Good Vibes!” made his transition into full time F&B management, pretty seamless.

Blue’s is Joey’s Happy Place and it’s his personal goal is to make it every single person that walks through the door, one of their Happy Places too.
